GUCCI’S autumn-winter 2023 campaign has been released, with the videography and imagery directed and photographed by esteemed photographer David Sims featuring established model Vittoria Ceretti.
The set features a prominent green backdrop and an elevator resembling the set design of the House’s women’s autumn-winter 2023 show that took place during Milan Fashion Week back in February.
The campaign showcases Gucci’s defining silhouettes from ready-to-wear and accessories pulled from the House’s latest eras. Amongst it all, Ceretti is seen modelling the brand’s newest archival reconceptualised piece, the Gucci Horsebit Chain bag in colourways of silver and red.
The bag was initially introduced during Tom Ford’s era at the House 25 years ago for their autumn-winter 2003 collection. As the brand keeps its classic Horsebit embellishment, designed in 1953 by Aldo Gucci in the adornment of their timeless loafer shoe, the new bag is distinguished by its maxi-sized interpretation of the iconic symbol.
The original configuration of the bag was modernised with the addition of a double shoulder strap and its padded leather, shearling, crystal and contrast-leather exterior.
The versatility of the new bag is highlighted in the film with Ceretti suggesting new ways the bag can be worn as she carries it by hand, on the shoulder and models it as a clutch.
The campaign beautifully demonstrates the House’s ability to embrace the stylistic silhouettes distinctive to an influential era in Gucci history while simultaneously offering a contemporary flair.
