Framed by Gwen Stefani’s Rich Girl, Holly Fulton’s Autumn Winter 2015 collection evoked high-carat decadence from a range of eras. An ode to the flush it-girl, it echoed ‘70s blonde Lolita Ewa Aulin of the 1968 cult classic Candy as well as Kate and Naomi stepping out in chainmail dresses at the start of the millennium.
Shamelessly sparkling crystals in elaborate patterns and more carefully glimmering bling encrusted everything. Forming ornamental fan-shapes on transparent blouses and or strewn like confetti across a prim pencil skirt, it was a glamorous mood-enhancer and joyful antidote to the normcore outside in the courtyard of Somerset House.
A leaf-green Mongolian fur coat was worn casually over a lingerie-inspired, gem-trimmed slip dress, while its printed siblings featured facing silhouettes and large furry collars and cuffs. The sugary hues – pale rose and lilac – were made mischievous paired with milky latex fused with Sophie Hallette lace, while lipstick red and black leather added a further edge.
A nighttime collection in a daylight palette, Fulton´s offerings were deliciously feminine in a feline way, we would love to join her party.
