IT WAS a sweet treat at the Fyodor Golan SS18 show at London Fashion Week. The duo is known for their comical collaborations with My Little Pony, Coca-Cola, Post-it and Power Puff girls and this season was no different. For the sweet brand’s 60th anniversary, the brand collaborated with Chupa-Chups and we think it was their best one yet.
It was a pastel colour affair with silky materials and deconstructed silhouettes. A Glass favourite was a glossy two-tone purple jumpsuit. The boiler suit had knitted lace decorating up the side of the suit. The model wore large purple sunglasses which gave us a very 1980s Miami Vice feel. Similarly, there was a full silver, sequin jumpsuit which had large recycled gold and silver circle embellishments. Keeping with the feel, this garment was 21st century appropriate.
A bronze, shimmering draping dress was wonderful standout look. The appropriate lighting hit the secret gold and maroon colour illuminating the dress. The model wore one hoop earring which had an added, large plastic piece added.
The Chupa-Chups logo was seen throughout the collection in clever and wearable ways. Fryodor Golan was embroidered in the Chupa-Chups style which went across the models’ jeans while another wore the logo on her cap. The BFC had hanging Chupa-Chups wrappers hanging from the ceiling and places statistically on the runway.
Closing the show, the designers came out wearing a “recycling is beautiful” t-shirt and their SS18 designs really achieve their goal to focus on self-awareness, self-improvement and addressing today’s human condition and emotions. Fyodor Golan, we salute you.
