TRANSPORTING the sophistication of the French Riviera to London’s Belgravia, famed Cannes-based restaurant, La Môme opens its door at The Berkeley hotel.
Bringing an iteration of the already-loved experience to the capital, it marks the fourth venture of Ugo and Antoine Lecorché, who have taken this idea to create a beach-front version in 2018 and one in Monte Carlo in 2022.

Its name is a tribute to the glamorous, Lucienne Suzanne Vreurick, who was a well-known hostess during the 1960s and was nicknamed ‘La Môme Moineau’ (translating to ‘the kid sparrow’). Originally a flower seller in Parisian nightclubs, she married a Puerto Rican businessman who resided in Cannes, transporting her there to create a decadent lifestyle during the infamous, hedonistic days of the area.
In honour of her, the restaurant was designed by award-winning interior architect Samy Chams to create a soft, yet inviting atmosphere to dine in. Just like its French counterparts, the London outpost imbues the same colour palette and contains framed images by American photographer Slim Aarons, depicting the glamour of the sixties era.

Speaking on the opening, Antoine shared: “As in Cannes, La Môme London will exude the same upbeat, elegant vibe. We are trying to bring to The Berkeley an experience that is about all the senses: not only about the food, but about the welcome, the service, the music, the energy, where something interesting is happening every day.”
From platters of oysters and crab salads to whole fish-of-the-day to share, and a selection of meats flame-grilled to your liking, the essence of summer relaxation awaits us all.
