Brioni is a classic brand that is constantly trying to evolve, deploying intricate tailoring techniques to continue to prove that the brand isn’t just playing around with the basic ideals of menswear for the sheer sake of it but that they are experimenting with them in style.
This year the collection was overall in a rather muted palette. Cloudy greys and deeper blues seemed to be the stars of the show with flickers of greens, reds, and golds used as accent throughout to make the collection unique. The majority of the clothing was classic silhouetted pieces but with a bit of pattern and colour that would make it something a little more unique to wear.
The collection went through phases throughout its 50 looks. Starting out reasonably sophisticated, even the poncho-style rain jacket glimmered with chic. Then it got a bit more fun, showcasing more pattern and colour. Moving towards a casual section with polos, shorts and looser t-shirts, finally going into a casual sophisticated combination.
In its entirety, the collection looked as though it belonged to a single man who happened to have all of these pieces in his closet for any occasion he may need them for. Brioni has created something beautiful that is wearable yet fun.
