Pragnell partner with the King’s Trust on its Change A Girl’s Life campaign

ONE OF the UK’s last family-owned, full-service jewellers, Pragnell has a rich and royal heritage that spans over 170 years. Founded by George Pragnell in 1954, it has been known for championing British design and craftsmanship. For the past ten years, it has also been a Patron of the King’s Trust .

To celebrate, Pragnell has collaborated with The King’s Trust on its ‘Change A Girl’s Life initiative, whereby a percentage of sales revenue from the new Manhattan Collection pink diamond and classic white diamond Manhattan Collection pieces will be pledged to the charity.

These new styles introduce pale pink diamonds for the first time within the collection. They’re showcased in signature Manhattan Collection designs and set in platinum and rose gold. Only one in every thousand diamonds mined possesses a fancy colour, with light pink examples being particularly sought after, and these have been incorporated into the collection.

Expect a selection of cocktail rings, pendants, earrings and a bangle that are set in platinum, richly polished 18ct yellow or rose gold. Gemstones featured in the collection include white diamonds, fancy pink diamonds, sapphires, ruby, emerald, auramine and rainbow styles that embody a full rainbow spectrum of natural multi-coloured sapphires – and these have been individually fashioned to highlight the vintage inspiration of this collection.

Established in 2019, the Change A Girl’s Life initiative aims to give young women who are facing adversity the help they need to get back on their feet and into work. Through their ongoing partnership with the King’s Trust Pragnell is committed to supporting young women and helping to empower and inspire young women to build a better future for themselves.

On becoming a Patron Charlie Pragnell said, “We’ve been proud to support The Prince’s Trust for the past few years in a number of ways. We’ve always been extremely impressed by the incredible work that they do to help young people realise their potential and transform their lives. But we wanted to do more, so we decided to cement our relationship by becoming a Patron. This will allow us to get even more closely involved with the Trust and its work. We look forward to a long and successful partnership.”

The Manhattan collection draws influence from the iconic art deco shapes and geometric skyline of New York, where Charlie Pragnell spent time whilst training as an apprentice in the 2000s. This line symbolises the unique energy, optimism and sense of possibility that the city holds, with its iconic architecture reinterpreted into the designs.

This follows the partnership in 2023 which saw Pragnell pledge a proportion of the proceeds from the sales of its Honeycomb collection, which also promoted heritage craft skills.
