ESTABLISHED in collaboration with the MAXXI Museum, in Rome and the luxury Italian jewellery and handbag brand Bulgari, The MAXXI Bulgari prize is an annual award that shines a light on artistic excellence while finding an artistic star from the new generation of international artists, showcasing their world globally. The MAXXI Museum was designed by the late architect Zaha Hadid.
Aiming the prize at artists who are already earning their place in the art world, the prize also represents opportunity and recognition. CEO of Bulgari Jean Christopher Babin says, “supporting young talents means investing in the creativity of our time and our future”.

The shortlisted finalists will be announced durning an event in London in October, at the Bulgari Hotel, the president of MAXXI Giovanna Melandri and a representative of Bulgari will present the event alongside a jury consisted of David Elliot who is an independent curator, Hou Hanru who is the Artistic Director of MAXXI, Yoko Hasegawa who is the Artistic Director of MOT Tokyo, Hans Ulrich Obrist Artistic Director of the Serpentine Gallery, London and Director of MAXXI Arte, Bartolomeo Pietromarchi.

Award finalists will present their specific works at the MAXXI from May 2018 and the winner of the award will be announced in October 2018, their work will then be placed into the museum’s collection and be part of an internationally distributed monographic publication.
