Chloë Fineman x MOTHER: A 1960s Daydream in Denim

SWINGING ’60s London has arrived in Los Angeles, thanks to Chloë Fineman. The actress and comedian has joined forces with L.A. label MOTHER on a capsule collection that nods to the glamour and playfulness of the 1960s, created in collaboration with her artist sister, Emma Fineman.

The collection, an edit of 15 pieces, recalls the era’s cinematic icons and jet set muses, think cigarette trousers a la Hepburn, A-line skirts, blue jeans, and coordinating cropped jackets, and faux patent leather co-ords.

True to form, the designs carry witty monikers such as The Wingman in Emotional Baggage and The Mayday in Fly Me Out, for tongue-in-cheek humour with a dash of retro glamour. For Chloë, the project feels like the answer to a lifelong sartorial quest, she says: “I’ve always wanted the perfect pair of vintage blue jeans. It’s been my side hustle trying to find them.” The collaboration with MOTHER, she suggests, has solved both that and another age-old dilemma: the temptation of raiding her sister’s wardrobe.

Tim Kaeding, co-founder and creative director of MOTHER, describes the Fineman sisters as “a dream duo” with their humour and ability to inject every detail with personality and heart.

In keeping with its family spirit, the collection also carries a philanthropic note as 10% of net sales will benefit the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, chosen in honour of the sisters’ cousin, a firefighter, and to support communities affected by California wildfires.
