Dior and Harrods celebrate a double anniversary with an exclusive Amphora bottle

DIOR and Harrods expand on their long-established partnership with an exclusive redesign of the classic amphora bottle.

The French Maison’s friendship with the English luxury department store dates back to 1954 when  Dior unveiled the Harrods Fashion Theatre, where Christian would host many of his collection shows.

Together, the two titans are quintessential of refinement and excellence, making their collaborative efforts nothing less than extravagant.

The year 2024 marks 70 years of collaboration between Harrods and Dior and further marks the luxury retailer’s 175th anniversary. In celebration of this, Dior has reimagined its iconic amphora perfume bottle in green. Initially crafted for the first of the brand’s fragrances, Miss Dior, the bottle was symbolic of the New Look and later became a House signature.

Amphora bottle

The perfume decanter undergoes a handblown technique with a crystal overlay, two layers of crystal —one transparent and the other emerald green— and finally polished, sculpted and delicately engraved with an eight-point star, a homage to the compass rose, a symbol most loved by Monsieur Dior.

Housed inside the exclusive bottle is the eau de toilette Miss Dior Originale, a scent created in 1947 that brings together aldehyde notes, galbanum, jasmine and a woody accord. As Francis Kurkdjian, Perfume Creation Director of Dior, reflects on Miss Dior Originale, he aims to revive the enchanting opulence at its crux, bringing its aromatic decadence to the exclusive edition.
