ARRIVING just in time for the colder months, the second collaboration between the two Italian houses, Napapijri and Fiorucci culminates in a high-spirited collection, capturing a retro attitude with an unadulterated essence of fun.
Following on from their original collaboration earlier this year, the two brands have merged once again, this time to create a winter collection inspired by the theatrical, mythical tale of an intrepid explorer who has become trapped inside a kaleidoscope of colour while journeying up one of Italy’s summits.
Fiorucci X Napapijri
This entertaining narrative has somehow been comedically projected onto the clothing, from obnoxiously coloured fleeces, hoods trimmed in hot pink fur and iridescent silver puffer jackets inspired by disco balls. It is certainly easy to see how the two different design sensibilities have married, rather harmoniously: ‘I wanted this collection to transport its wearers, whether that be into the mountains or up into space,” mentions Fiorucci creative director, Daniel Fletcher.
The second collaboration is a break from mundanity often frequented when it comes to outerwear, and is perfect for those unafraid to make a statement.
