Maison Michel launches a new collection for Royal Ascot 2018

THE HATS of Maison Michel, the Parisian milliner, sit upon the heads of a group of four, models Auguste, Charles, Blanche and Virginia. This self-described quarter of enfants terribles never go out sans chapeaux, and they’re about to prove it in their attendance at  Royal Ascot soon.

Maison Michel have launched four hats, essential for the summer. There are boater hats draped in lace layered with PVC for a sixties French yé-yé girl effect, while a similar style is accomplished with straw hats, either left natural or designed in patterns of checkerboard or stripes.

Versatile and classic, these hats are the perfect transitional pieces between the city and the beach. They have an air of a bygone era while maintaining a contemporary relevance.

The collection pays homage to the book Le Blanc et le Noir by Eugène Ionesco. As suggested by its title, the hats are black and white, a classic combination paired perfectly with the hats’ vintage vibes. They are carefree, classic and eternally stylish.
