DIOR’S latest winter 2025 menswear collection draws inspiration from the art of motion and ballet, merging ready-to-wear silhouettes with the exhibitionism of couture.
Dreamt up by artistic director Kim Jones, the collection reflects on the past as the designer looks back onto the works of his uncle and documentary photographer Colin Jones, who often photographed choreographer Rudolf Nureyev.
Jones looked to the flamboyancy of Nureyev to instil a sense of timeless elegance in the new collection, highlighted through colour and refinement as pictured in a campaign shot by Alasdair McLellan inside the tasteful interiors of a dance studio.
The collection brings poetry to functionality and the quintessence of grace to utilitarian silhouettes as tailoring sees unique volumes, pleats and cuts. The Bar jacket is reinterpreted into a masculine profile and introduced to the Oblique suit design by Kim Jones.
Distinguishable shapes combine with unexpected materials, with high socks styled against woollen zipped shorts and ribbed knits.
As the models stand at the barre, they wear striking ballerina-like shoes. Leather accessories finalise looks with effortless shapes, bringing a contemporary edge to practicality as seen in the Saddle Twin or the Camera bag — further elevated by the Maxicannage graphic.
Concluding the collection, turban-like hats reflect 1999 Dior womenswear by Stephen Jones.
