DIOR has launched the latest reincarnation of its celebrated and much-loved Miss Dior perfume. A compelling cocktail of floral abundance, including iris, peony and Lily-of-the-Valley, Miss Dior Eau de Parfum is charged with a splash of spice, evoking the freshness of Miss Dior Chérie with a dizzying nostalgia. Yet, at its core, the perfume is a celebration of timeless beauty, framed with Dior’s enduring affinity for flowers.
Created by Dior master perfumer François Demachy, the fragrance is centred around the honeyed, slightly peppery scent of Centifolia rose which is softened with a dash of delicate vanilla.
After a couple of hours, like flowers in their summer bloom, the perfume flourishes into the velvety notes of iris and lily of the valley, eventually segueing to an earthy aroma of musky sandalwood blended with hints of apricot. Miss Dior refrains from overpowering the senses; it hovers over the skin with the whisper weight of silky petals.
The perfume’s blush-pink liquid is encased in the distinct, clean-cut Miss Dior bottle adorned with an all-new couture bow. Designed by virtuoso ribbon maker Julien Faure, the bow was created by ateliers using traditional wooden weaving looms. With a pointillist technique, the ribbon echoes the rich hues of a bouquet woven with fine blue, gold and pink threads.
Recovering from the austerity of the War, in 1947 Miss Dior was originally spawned from a desire to inject a glimmer of magic into women’s lives again. As we emerge from a pandemic-induced bleakness, which saw beauty unsurprisingly shelved, Miss Dior is taking our hand, thrilling us with the intoxicating joy of perfumes.
