CLERGERIE’S new SS18 collection gives us a further glimpse into the identity of the well-established and revered French footwear brand. Creative Director David Tourniaire-Beauciel, who took over last year, has drawn inspiration from archive favourites and reinterpreted them for this year, shuffling us into spring in a number of pool sliders, wedges, flatforms, mules and even Clergerie’s first ever sneaker.
The Figlouc Sandal
The Parisian brand’s much loved architectural silhouettes, comfort and combination of masculine and feminine remains, with SS18 unveiling more masculine styles like the Goodyear-stitched Roel brogue or the Yumi mule.

All are crafted from the finest leathers, and the brand’s use of raffia, which remains a key style to Clergerie. Originally sourced as a result from the lack of leathers available in the past, the raffia returns in different colours, while also being mixed with cotton fibres for extra comfort. The Idalie mule sees the archive raffia transformed with a new-wave of cool. CEO Perry Oosting said, “I am very proud of David’s work on SS18, which gives a hint of what Clergerie will be on the seasons to come.”
