IF THERE’S one thing that Tod’s succeeds at season after season, it’s their expert production of elevated basics. In a muted colour palette of brown tones and taupe hues, the house have presented an idyllic Autumn collection that is as versatile as it is chic.
One thing that is always noticeable when it comes to a Tod’s collection is the quality. Though perhaps not the most experimental design, their creations speak for themselves when they make their way down the runway. Timeless, but also appearing to to last the test of time. Autumn/Winter 23 is clearly no exception, as their earthy collection seems to be the ultimate capsule.
Though an extensive selection of garments, its cohesion means it wouldn’t be hard to pick five to ten pieces and create a dreamy wardrobe. From the cream roll necks, to the burnt orange tailored leather trousers, or striped suede jackets. Sportswear is also given a sartorial twist, while trench coats and ankle boots are paired seamlessly with one another re-introducing a beloved silhouette imagined by Italian artisans. It’s modernity and traditionalism joining hand-in-hand.
The new collection also sees the introduction of the Tod’s Pash Jacket – a key hero piece for the upcoming season. Born from the Tod’s laboratory, the leather of the jacket is hand brushed to reveal it’s texture, polished to create a three-dimensional allure, and coated to acquire new shades that highlight the expert quality. This, along with the Shirt Jacket made from ultra soft nappa leather are two standouts sure to be a hit when Autumn rolls around once again.
Though the clothing itself is paired expertly, the subtle inclusion of accessories elevate the pieces further into luxury. For instance, the new Tod’s Greca belt made from elastic help to separate garments with its varied colour palette, while rucksacks and crossbody bags continue the narrative of versatility and practicality.
