MONTBLANC unveils its Masters of Art Homage to Henri Matisse collection this April, introducing a new limited-edition writing instrument series that translates the French artist’s colour, line and sculptural imagination into collectable design.
Founded in 1906, Montblanc established its reputation through writing culture and fine craftsmanship before expanding into a broader luxury house renowned for its elegant, long-lasting lifestyle pieces.

Created in partnership with Maison Matisse, the collection explores different stages of Henri Matisse’s career through pens inspired by specific works. Like his celebrated paper cut-outs to his Tahiti period and richly decorative paintings. The launch also connects with Montblanc’s own heritage as a maker of refined writing instruments, a legacy strengthened by the 1924 debut of the Meisterstück, one of the brand’s defining creations.
A series of limited-edition pens will be released, with the 4810 taking Blue Nude III as its inspiration. The pen features blue and white lacquer, revealing a seated female figure as the barrel turns. The Limited Edition 888 looks to The Romanian Blouse, pairing textured lacquer with embroidered-style motifs and black onyx details.

Further up the range, the Limited Edition 161 recalls Matisse’s 1930 journey to Tahiti with an engraved silver cap and cocobolo wood barrel, while the Limited Edition 96 honours The Dance II with bronze dancers circling vivid blue and turquoise lacquer.
At the top of the collection, the Limited Edition 8 reinterprets Purple Robe and Anemones in white gold, enamel, gemstones and diamonds. Montblanc, which today extends beyond pens into categories including watches, leather goods and accessories, said the collection will be available from April 2026 in boutiques worldwide and online.
