FOCUSED on showing the importance of community, Burberry’s autumn-winter 2022 campaign shines a spotlight on the collection’s theme of belonging. Harnessing the beauty of individuality and the power of self-expression, the duality of identity and togetherness is explored through elevated studio shots and the outdoors in Los Angeles.
Reconnecting with long-term collaborators, photography duo Inez and Vinoodh, Chief Creative Officer Riccardo Tisci wanted to present a distinct perspective to Burberry through capturing a playful twist on tradition and heritage whilst ensuring the innovation within futurism was evident.
Burberry AW22 Campaign
With the British brand having a long standing heritage, Tisci continually reinterprets iconic motifs at the core of the House and for this campaign, the designer chose the Equestrian Knight Design.
Burberry AW22 Campaign
Featuring members of world-renowned The Compton Cowboys, a black-owned non-profit organisation situated in California, the original idea of community is seen through the introduction of a partnership between Burberry and the charity. Burberry will offer financial support to their mission which aims to demolish the stereotypes of local African-American communities through equestrianism and by connecting them to nature – alluding to their motto ‘streets raised us, horses saved us’.
