Italian Hands tells the story of Italy through the hands of artisans, but also through the faces of figures of great elegance and good taste, who collaborate with the artisans themselves to keep the tradition alive.
These include Giberto Arrivabene and Bianca di Savoia-Aosta with Gianni Seguso, master glassblower from Murano; Lola Montes Schnabel with Rosario Spina, master of terracotta; Madina Visconti with Ernesto Carati, artisan of brass and bronze; Carlo Clavarino with Christian Belforte, master of pesto. The book is not just a tribute to the past, but also a bridge between generations, highlighting how the value of craftsmanship is fundamental for the future.

Young artisans, who learn from their masters, carry forward the legacy of Made in Italy with new ideas and visions, continuing to make Italy a symbol of quality and refinement. As Diego Della Valle, President of Tod’s Group, states: “This book is a tribute to those who, every day, with passion and commitment, contribute to keeping a fundamental part of our cultural identity alive. It is a recognition of those who know how to enhance craftsmanship, making it a symbol of authentic, timeless quality, even for new generations.”
Italian Hands is enriched with a foreword by Oscar-winning actress Michelle Yeoh, who reflects on the value of craftsmanship as a deep connection between past and future. Her contribution recognises the quality of Made in Italy and the lifestyle that derives from it. Italian Hands marks another step in Tod’s journey to promote Italian craftsmanship, style, and culture.
