Because one amfAR gala just isn’t enough the charity that Glass supports with precedence hosted another spectacular fundraising event this past weekend, coming not all too long after their previous Cinema Against AIDS gala at Cannes in May. While they may not have topped the record-breaking $38 million they raised in Cannes, it wasn’t necessarily about that this time round, instead the sixth annual amfAR Milano event aims to round up the Italian Fashion Community during fashion week in Milan, riding a fashionable wave to put an end to the suffering of AIDS.

Raising more than $1.5 million in total, the gala also honoured Moncler Chairman and Creative Director Remo Ruffini with the Award of Courage for his continued support and outstanding personal commitment to fighting AIDS. Hosted by long-time supporter Heidi Klum, the strictly black-tie affair attracted the legendary Grace Jones to make a special performance as well as other high profile advocates such as Coco Rocha, Poppy Delevingne and Rosarie Dawson to Milan’s La Permanente.
Bulgari, the long-time sponsor and presenter of the annual event, did their part too, donating a yellow-gold watch which was auctioned for $54,000. Once again, Sunday’s festivities solidified the importance of one of the most eagerly anticipated charity events and its critical benevolence aimed at raising funds for imperative AIDS research programs.
