TAKING pride of place on Avenue George V, Hotel Prince des Galles’s central location, nestled between the Champs-Elysées and the Eiffel Tower, captures the very essence of Paris.
Steeped in history and considered an Art Deco gem, it has the effortless charm of being timeless.
Lalique Suite
Marble floors, plush seating and an air of sophistication were my first impressions. But once ushered into my suite, a more modern touch was noticeable.
Twisting the classic French aesthetic ever so slightly, the room, designed by the renowned Pierre-Yves Rochon and equipped with a bed worthy of a king, made it evident that my short stay in the bustling city would be a relaxing one – not to mention being catered for by an array of staff whose attentiveness was second-to-none.

While the capital is rich with history and attractions to see, the hotel makes a compelling argument for being one itself. The 19.20 Bar pays homage to the founding years of the establishment, luring me in with the country’s local produce and finding myself with a glass of champagne in hand prior to dinner.
I also dined in the hotel’s Japanese restaurant, Akira Back, named after its Michelin-starred head chef. It was a faultless offering of mini dishes that spanned the sea, keeping me hooked with each bite.
King Art Deco Deluxe Balcony Courtyard View Guest Room
Dancing between history with the original mosaic floors and 1929 drawings on the walls, to the amenities that stretch from being pampered by Olivier Lecocq to a fitness room worthy of professional athletes, the Hotel Prince des Galles is a place truly deserving of a crown.
