Glass unveils Alexander McQueen SS21 menswear collection

USING what was at hand during the lockdown, Creative Director Sarah Burton used out of stock fabric to make something new from the old. Leftovers were over-printed, re-dyed and renewed to build the Alexander McQueen spring-summer 2021 menswear collection.

There is no tailoring in the industry quite like at McQueen – it is a craft that their ateliers have mastered and pushed the British fashion house to the forefront of silhouettes and suits.

Sturdy, strong looks include graphically printed suits with matching shirts, leather bomber jackets and oversized knitted vest sweaters – accumulating to make a versatile wardrobe for the McQueen man next summer.

In terms of fabric and colours, the SS21 collection for men mirrors the women’s Pre-SS21 collection, creating the perfect him-and-her mix!

One of the most exciting aspects of this collection is the multi-faceted nature of the clothes. Looking into the future, even predicting what the next month has in store for us is impossible during these unprecedented times.

However, Burton and the McQueen team are putting a picture together of freedom. There is fantasy, a time where men can wear boldly printed suits and leather trousers; they are not imagining us stuck indoors again.
