NYFW SS25: Coach

COACH revealed its spring-summer 2025 collection on September 9th, 2024 with an electric runway show on New York City’s High Line, reflecting Creative Director Stuart Vevers’ vision of modern American fashion.

This season, Vevers continued to redefine classic American style by blending traditional tailoring with elements drawn from skate culture, heavy metal, and new wave, reimagining what “luxury” means for today’s generation.

The collection featured unconventional  combinations, like navy blazers, chinos, and pinstripe suits with exaggerated proportions, alongside ‘60s-inspired dresses in bright, candy-colored hues with shortened hems.

Vevers’ commitment to sustainability shone through with the art of “re-loving” — garments like denim trousers, moto skirts, and aviator jackets crafted from repurposed post-consumer materials, celebrating Coach’s heritage of craftsmanship and the unique character of pieces with history.

Casual pieces played with New York’s pop and rock ‘n’ roll heritage. Graphic T-shirts layered under distressed moto jackets or paired with stovepipe jeans featured playful nods to the city’s iconic visual language, while embroidered white tees channeled a DIY punk vibe reminiscent of 1940s souvenir garments.

Building on concepts from recent seasons, the designer introduced new takes on the cardigan jacket in up-cycled leather and suede and offered fresh interpretations of tuxedo jackets and pyjama pants, creased and faded for a lived-in look.

In leather, the debut of the Chain Tabby 26 made a statement with a contemporary twist on Coach’s iconic Tabby bag crafted from soft-grain leather with a metallic chain strap. The collection also expanded on the Frame bag, including new sizes and shapes and playful iterations with heart, star, and dinosaur silhouettes, a nod to Bonnie Cashin’s 1960s designs.

The Soho Sneaker, inspired by late ‘80s and early ‘90s cross-training shoes, made its runway debut, crafted from regenerative leather and adorned with New York-inspired charms like taxi cabs and cassette tapes.

Held on the High Line, the show amalgamates the collection’s connection to the energy of New York City. Stars of Coach’s “Unlock Your Courage” campaign, including Charles Melton, Nazha, Storm Reid, Jayson Tatum, and Youngji Lee, were among the special guests.

“My vision for Spring was to create real clothes for a real urban environment, redesigned for a new generation,” Vevers said. “We’ve made archetypal pieces unique through proportion, styling, and playful embellishments, challenging the idea of traditional luxury.”
