Diane von Furstenberg, Spring 16 – You Be You

Diane von Furstenberg has once again collaborated with supermodel Karlie Kloss to bring an exciting and effervescent socially-driven campaign for Spring 16, at the core of which lies the brands message of women’s empowerment. Consisting of pieces such as the iconic wrap dress in vibrant colours and vivid prints, the key accessory for Spring is The Mini Secret Agent, featured throughout.

The campaign celebrates Diane’s mantra of  “be the woman you want to be” with a rallying cry of #youbeyou, starting a conversation about all women being the best versions of themselves and inspiring others along the way. Karlie Kloss encapsulates this perfectly with confidence and charisma.“She is a supermodel, she is an entrepreneur … She knows who she is and is never afraid to show it” says Furstenberg and together, they “invite all women to find this spirit and confidence in themselves”.

The fashion video accompanying the campaign equally elaborates this with a casual conversation between Diane and Karlie exploring issues of style, femininity and ultimately, womanhood today. “In true DVF fashion, the only direction I got on set was to be myself! I love that it’s about being who you are and empowering others to do the same,” says Karlie, a message the model has been a firm supporter of throughout her career. Karlie Kloss connects the essence of the designer’s original vision with the woman of today: a woman not afraid to want what she wants, who stands out through self-expression, who is authentic to herself and takes pride in her femininity.

The DVF brand has long considered itself the women’s best friend, as detailed in Diane’s memoirs entitled The Woman I Wanted To Be. This campaign sees power of confidence passed to a new reinvigorated generation of  young women, colourfully spreading the message of #youbeyou.
