Feast on Cloud 9 returns to The Grove for a flavourful summer

FEAST on Cloud 9 by Feast Events returns to Hertfordshire’s The Grove this summer for a delectable Champagne Afternoon Tea and a nine-course Tasting Menu.

The experience is truly breathtaking, with the dining pop-up offering an enchanting opportunity to enjoy afternoon tea or dinner in a hot air balloon, available to indulge in from 25th May to 1st September 2024.

Although the hot air balloons remain immobile, the culinary journey is sure to have your tastebuds taking flight, travelling from land to sea with Feast Events memorable experience. 

Situated alongside The Grove’s canal, guests can enjoy the scenic views of the hotel’s 300-acre estate. The afternoon tea is available for groups of 2 to 6 people and is served from 12 pm-3 pm. On offer will be a selection of finger sandwiches and savoury bites alongside the British classic scone and seaside-themed cakes.

Taking a glimpse at the menu, Oak smoked salmon, caper mayonnaise, and Clarence Court egg mayonnaise and cress are two delectables from the finger sandwich selection. Savoury accompaniments such as whipped cheese ice cream cone, truffle flake, and savoury madeleine with crème fraîche and chives will have your tastebuds dancing.

As for sweets, guests can enjoy warm scones with clotted cream and homemade preserves amongst a selection of cakes and edible clouds.

For those looking forward to fine dining beneath the stars, the evening experience serves a nine-course tasting menu enveloped by the warmth of the hot air balloon’s cosy ambience.

Guests will be served welcoming drinks and canapés before venturing into a culinary experience travelling the sea, across oceans to sunflower fields, complete with an evocative trip to the fairground. 

Stow Your Suitcase titles the welcoming event of the evening in preparation for the course Beside The Seaside, which includes chicken liver parfait Feast lolly, savoury madeleine, and Mushroom parfait Feast lolly, savoury madeleine, as a meat-free alternative.

At The Tide Pools offers roasted Cornish cod, straw potatoes, seaweed ketchup pickled dulse, and a vegan variation of battered costada courgette, straw potatoes, seaweed ketchup, and pickled dulse. 

Sunflowers At Sunset marks the fourth course and presents Royal Imperial Caviar sunflower, buckwheat shell, capers, gherkin, shallot, and egg, amongst vegan and vegetarian options.

Lobster en croute, fennel and cucumber ceviche, lobster bisque presents Soaring Over The Ocean with Pithivier of salt-baked beetroot, goat’s cheese, caramelised onion, spinach and nori as a vegetarian option with a vegan alternative also available.

Stamp Your Passport marks the sixth course and delivers Tournedos-Rossini’s fillet of beef, foie gras, truffle mashed potato, roasted shallot, and truffle jus, with a vegan take on the dish also on offer.

As for desserts, A Spin In The Tea Cups presents vanilla panna cotta and strawberry soup tea cups and candy floss, followed by Touch Down, which comprises textures of chocolate and salted caramel and eventually, the final course of the evening, Every Cloud Has A Silver Lining, a selection of Cloud 9 petit fours.

The Feast on Cloud 9 tasting menu will be served daily for tables of 4 to 6, priced at £125 per person and £55 per child. For those interested in a wine pairing to accompany each course, the addition is available for £75 per head. 

The Feast on Cloud 9 afternoon tea is priced at £65 per person, and for those who want to arrange a special occasion, the package can be upgraded to a champagne afternoon tea for £75 per head.
