Leading heritage and lifestyle brand, Barbour has joined forces with Japanese trainer brand, Flower Mountain on a collaboration line for AW24.
The beloved British brand, known for kitting out everyone from royalty to rock stars, has been synonymous with the countryside for 130 years, cue the iconic waxed outerwear, and now its teamed up with Japan-based label Flower Mountain.

Founded by friends Keisuke Ota and Yang Chao, who are also known for playing with tradition and inspired by their love for materials and nature – a natural synergy occurred when both labels came together. This formed the starting point for the collaboration, informed by each other’s distinctive features and reinterpreting them into a modern, global context.

The capsule collection includes a unisex jacket based on Barbour’s classic Transporter wax jacket, that is presented in playful colourways as well as three styles of footwear, which reflect the tones of the jackets.
The hallmark of Flower Mountain – the dandelion symbol – has become part of the Barbour logo and embellishes its classic tartan-lined jacket as embroidery and stitching. There’s more mixy-matchy as Flower Mountain’s most practical and technical shoe, the Back Country model combines suede on the upper with waterproof, waxed nylon borrowed from the jacket.

Ian Bergin, Director of Menswear at Barbour says, “Comfort and a modern take on lightweight practicality attracted us to the products that Flower Mountain make. The cork footbed feels natural and the shoes are beautifully crafted. Barbour is an iconic brand centred on the manufacture of robust wax outerwear which has become iconic in its design and practicality. Working together is a great learning experience setting Barbour’s craft and expertise with a sense of fun and modern relevance that Flower Mountain bring to the table.”
