Glass has a first look: Bottega Veneta’s pre-spring 2020 ready-to-wear and accessories

HEAD-TO-TOE classic Italian elegance becomes achievable with Daniel Lee’s pre-spring 2020 ready-to-wear and accessories collection for Bottega Veneta.

The selection of bags, shoes, and jewellery showcase returning favourites for the fashion house, including their brand-defining interwoven leather bags, but there are also some welcome new additions. Playing with pattern and texture, a sleek design in marbled leather is available, in addition to the Sponge Pouch, voluminous with hand knitted loops, and a lightweight, water resistant nylon travelling bag.

Neutral tones are complimented by a lustrous burgundy colour and splashes of aquamarine and Aperol orange. Available in this wide spectrum of colours, the BV Twist bag is relaxed enough to be worn as part of a daytime informal look but polished enough to complete an evening outfit. The triangle-shaped clutch is designed to be worn on the wrist and features a big knot on its handle.

Perfectly paired with leather, the collection’s jewellery sees spiralling metal work in silver and gold, giving an impression of movement – incessant and searching. The twists and turns of the metal are sure to catch the light as well as an admiring onlookers’ eye.

For footwear, opt for chunky boots in the day to create an understated-cool, utilitarian look, or dance the night away with the enduring popularity of square toed sandals in metallic colours.

The collection speaks to the many fans of the house’s characteristic style, but also relays a message of future fluidity and growth – more is to come.
