Glass previews new art series by Michel Comte at Art Basel, Hong Kong

DURING Art Basel Hong Kong this month the Swiss artist Michel Comte will showcase his new collection of artworks at the booth of Galerie Urs Meile. Capturing environmental and social causes has been critical for the artist’s practice. Along these lines, Comte’s new art series has a strong emphasis on the phenomenon of red water. The selection is made from black and red ink painted onto transparent sheets of paper and feature the impact of environmental change. Just like that, his work is interpreting the global water streams, pools and lakes which have turned into red due to severe pollution.
