Hôtel Chais Monnet supports the community of Cognac amid the coronavirus emergency

TO SUPPORT the community of Cognac, Hôtel Chais Monnet is preparing food for the doctors, nurses and carers at the front line of the COVID-19 outbreak.

A total of 365 freshly cooked meals were delivered to the town’s central hospital on Wednesday, marking the first of many deliveries organised by the five-star hotel during the pandemic.

The hotel’s kitchen reopened its doors yesterday to the combined forces of Cognac-born pastry chef Isabelle Bovy and Hôtel Chais Monnet’s very own pastry chef Camille Roché, resulting in a hearty yet balanced three-course meal for essential workers fighting to keep France safe and well.

The community outreach is part of a wider movement established across France called ‘Chefs with Caregivers’, with top restaurants preparing meals in recognition of key workers showing courage and strength in the current face of adversity.
