THE House of Givenchy has announced their most recent pairing with Disney for a limited-edition, nostalgic, capsule collection. Inspired by childhood favourites and iconic characters, creative director, Matthew M. Williams, reveals the first look into the planned future series.
Cherished, classic characters are included from all-time hits and there is something in there for all. Everyone’s favourite deer, Bambi, is making a return and the romance between Pongo and Perdita in 101 Dalmatians, minus Cruella, is teased in a short carousel animation.
Frozen is back with Olaf the Snowman and their creator, Queen Elsa, as she’s caught showering him in magical snowflakes, and paying tribute to the very beginning we see a familiar shadow of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, created in 1927, messing around being his usual playful self.
The collection will include a range of graphic hoodies and t-shirts, with a refreshing blacked out silhouette print. Givenchy seems to be stripping away from the enticing, bright colours we are used to seeing with Disney, and instead providing a sophisticated twist.
A series that is quite the opposite of Gucci’s previous run with the cartoon makers and one we expect to fly off the shelves in a heartbeat.
