Glass tests natural suncream range from Green People

GREEN People is a sustainable, environmentally friendly brand, that I totally trust with my skin especially on extremely hot sunny summer days, served up to us by climate change. We can no longer be guaranteed a rainy day right in the middle of a sunshine forecast, the way we used to in English summers or vice versa.

Even the roses are wilting, which makes me think it’s even more essential to keep hydrated and protected from harsh rays than ever. So I turn to Green People for help, as they always come up trumps.

Green People, Scent free facial sun cream SPF30  50ml £24.50

After my morning cleansing and moisturising routine, I pop on a layer of this creamy treat, Green People’s Scent free facial sun cream, which feels like a super high quality moisturiser. It’s not at all white or gloopy and has a 30 broad spectrum sun protection factor.

Packaged in a handbag-sized recyclable container, it’s well worth having it with you during the day to replenish once in awhile. Reef friendly, organic and chemical free, it can’t do any harm, and it’s light enough not to be suffocating to the skin.

As it’s scent free it’s also not going to overload your senses and your skin really benefits, as it’s packed full of  nutrients and antioxidants to halt premature ageing.

Green People, Scent free sun cream SPF30 200ml £25.50

This is pretty much as great as an all round sun cream can get, just as penetrable as the facial sun cream, only slightly heavier for use on the body. I make sure to smother my hands, arms, neck and any other visible body areas with this 30 minutes before leaving the house.

Super creamy and hard to resist piling on, you’ll find that just a light layer gives complete protection and still enables plenty of tanning, keeping the skin beautifully moisturised with no burning or peeling. Finer fabrics let some harmful rays through, so better safe than sorry, if you like to spend your days in lace, muslin or slinky silk gowns, apply liberally.

It’s perfect for natural lakes or unpopulated bays where you may find yourself swimming with fish and birdlife, as is kind to all creatures and leaves no trace. Deliciously easy to use, this becomes even more of a feel good product, with the knowledge that it’s been made with such thought and respect for planet earth.

Green People, Edelweiss sun cream tan accelerator SPF15 200ml £24.50

This one is my favourite, only because I have very fair, Scottish skin and take a long time to tan. The natural tan accelerator speeds things up and helps the dermal layers create more of a protective barrier to the sun, while giving a healthy glow all over on my first day of using it.

Vegan, anti ageing and beneficial to the skin its made with elements of Edelweiss, the cult flower originating in the Himalayas which has a microstructure which works as a defence against ultraviolet rays, that dehydrate and damage.

Non greasy and easily absorbed, it boosts natural tanning while emitting a very slight flowery smell, nothing obtrusive and actually pleasing on a hot day. It’s a body cream but I have used it on my face with no problems, keeping it away from the eye area, of course.
