LFW SS15: Jasper Conran

The epitome of the designer who is always going to score big in London’s fashion scene, Jasper Conran knows how do LFW prestige with his faultless designs. With quality design in his blood and an eye for aesthetics, Conran can translate the most intricate and beautiful ideas into his work simply and seamlessly, making a 44-piece collection fly by in a matter of minutes. In one of those rare examples when near on every element of a show comes together in harmony, from Conran’s classic British string accompaniment to the all-white setting, the clothes, light as a feather  like no other, conve, yed a level of quality synonymous with the name Conran. Cotton poplin and fluid jersey that hugged the body kindly couldn’t have been any more flattering, given the Conran treatment with a painterly abstract motif that, while could have appeared cliche, the reliable designer took complete ownership of the aesthetic.

Lines directed a large portion of the collection, with SS15’s preference for grid structures and panelling being transformed into rich, lush blocks of colour that didn’t make the body look weighed down, doing its part for striking graphic appeal this season. Silky silhouettes that glided along the floor in blurry yet pigmented shades of violet, apple and rust, then progressively kept the shows momentum going, but as for what keeps Jasper Conran’s momentum going at a healthy speed, look to what good design really is and you’ll see why.
