Avant-garde crochet and ruffles meets graphic sequins patterns at Sibling SS15. Stomping down the runway in oversized black, red and white bows in collaboration with milliners Bernstock Spiers, with perspex jewelry and bangles designed by Tatty Design’s Harriet Vine, the collection entitled Holiday Celebrate offers a new take on the street-style girly shape.
Through their knitwear lens inspired by ‘80s New York City style, Sid Bryan, Joe Bates, Cozette McCreery have created ginghams combined with pretty low-slung ponies and knitted frocks which was summoning a certain kind of laid-back attitude. Starting with a set of white and black looks the show breaks into color with orange hues prevailing. A jacket with extra padding at the shoulders and volume in the sleeves, ruffle gowns and splaying skirts were mixed with colorful tones.
Emphasising femininity through bare silhouettes, this collection can be seen as provocative or an attempt to break the conventions of pseudo-conservatism.
