Tod’s teams up with fashion design students in London on their Re-Generation project

GLOBAL luxury fashion brand Tod’s has teamed up with the future generation of fashion to tackle current industry issues. The project is titled Tod’s Re-Generation, and the goal is to find innovative and sustainable design solutions through collaboration with leading fashion and design universities.

Tod’s Re-Generation Project

Previously having worked with Central Saint Martins University, this time around, Tod’s partnered with Istituto Marangoni for the second Tod’s Academy project. What is Tod’s Academy? According to the brand, it is a “laboratory of ideas based at the brand’s headquarters…where innovative concepts meet the know-how of Tod’s, and where artisans accompany and help young people develop their skills.”

A total of 20 young designers from Istituto Marangoni have been selected to design and reinterpret Tod’s codes with a sustainable approach.

Throughout the creative process, the students received guidance and support from world-renowned mentors, including Editor in Chief of InStyle USA Laura Brown, Editor in Chief of Fantastic Man Gert Jonkers and Sustainability editor at Vogue USA Tonne Goodman. The mentorship scheme allowed young designers to gain industry advice and create critical professional relationships.

Tod’s Re-Generation Project

The outcomes created by the students overflow with thrilling creativity and design-savvy. At the heart of the Tod’s Academy Re-Generation project is the desire to support young designers through experience and,  more importantly, by creating a more hopeful industry for them to take over eventually.
