Calvin Klein celebrates youth culture with their latest campaign – One Future

FOR THE past 25 years, the iconic CK ONE fragrance by Calvin Klein has encapsulated youth culture. Continuing to shine a spotlight on the next generation, the American brand’s latest campaign, titled One Future, features a curated group of powerful young adults. A vanguard of photographers have captured their voices against the backdrop of the individual’s hometown.

In true Calvin Klein fashion, the campaign is stripped back and puts emphasis on the person in front of the camera. Each of the eleven youths talk about their experiences, perspectives and hopes for the future, giving us a taste of the leaders of tomorrow.

Glass looks into three of these CK ONE stars:

Brandon Woody is a 22-year-old musician from East Baltimore. He began learning how to play the trumpet at eight years old, and progressed effortlessly and quickly during his youth.

Having spent one year at the Brubeck Institute and another at the Manhattan school of music before deciding to drop out, he made the decision to follow his heart. Now months before releasing his debut album early next year with his band UPENDO, Woody opens up in the CK ONE campaign.

Quannah Chasinghorse Potts is an 18-year-old environmental activist. Her current goal is to gain permanent protection for the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge; which protects land from being used for oil development. Connecting with heritage through hunting caribou and salmon fishing in the summer with her family, she is able to relate to her people’s indigenous land and way of life.

Being the fourth generation in her family to advocate for the protection of the Arctic wildlife makes her unique to others as she was born with this passion in her blood, and will continue to make her voice heard regarding climate change.

Destiny Batista is a 21-year-old student based in East Brooklyn. Youngest of six, family is at the core of her life, whilst her free time is centred around her friends. Dabbling in the local studio with rap, she hopes that with practice she will nail the art of freestyling. In the meantime, Batista is finishing her degree in accountancy and works at the local fast-food chain to earn some extra money.

It is exciting to see a brand like Calvin Klein use their platform for the next generation. Not only highlighting genuine stories and people, but also sharing perspectives and ultimately, creating a narrative of togetherness around the CK ONE perfume.
