Dries Van Noten launches artisanal Denim Capsule Collection

DRIES Van Noten has launched a must-have capsule collection of denim for men and women, transforming everyday fabric into a stunning display of artisanal dyeing techniques.

The eclectic range encompasses a variety of wardrobe staples, such as shirts, shorts, skirts, outerwear, and jeans, all infused with the Belgian designer’s unique artistic sensibilities.

Nevertheless, the heart of this artisanal collection lies in its striking aesthetic, achieved through an intricate bleach dipping process rooted in centuries-old tradition.

This process gives the denim an eye-catching ombre look, with the distinctive indigo and cerulean blues contrasting with the  simplicity of bleached white.

Dries Van Noten’s innovative exploration of bleach dipping on denim can be traced back to the spring-summer 2011 womenswear show, where it was utilised as a medium to pay homage to Belgian painter Jef Verheyen’s masterful manipulation of light. The late artist’s abstract gradations of colour inspired the breathtaking process, where saturated shades abruptly transform into contrasting tones on the same fabric.

Fast forward to today, the denim capsule range breathes new life into the original 2011 design, presenting a series of dynamic, casual pieces perfect for modern wardrobes.

The collection will make its exclusive debut on April 19th at driesvannoten.com, Dries Van Noten stores, as well as ssense.com and Ssense Montréal.
