Fendi takes over Harrods this summer

STARTING this month, Fendi is bringing its signature craftsmanship, creativity and iconic spirit to Harrods, taking over the store with a series of four pop-ups; Peekaboo Bar, Fendi Caffe, Shoe Heaven and the Men’s Piazza.

The LA-based visual artist Joshua Vides transforms each space by covering all surfaces in his surreal black and white style graphics, dubbed “Reality to Idea”. Re-imagining the iconic double FF logo in monochrome, Vides’ creativity expresses Fendi’s distinct sense of humour and ingenuity and creates a must-see destination at Harrods this summer.

The Peekaboo bar allows visitors to fully customise their own Mini Peekaboo, exclusively at Harrods. The icon that it is, the Peekaboo represents the Maison’s tradition of using researched materials to exhibit artisan skills and creativity. Clients will be able to mix and match the body, handle and strap to create their own bespoke version. There are over twenty different options for the body of the bag (including calf and patent leather), a removable handle with twenty-five different variations including leather and glitter finishes, and a further seven options for the strap.

The classic Baguette bag, originally designed in 1997 by Silvia Venturini Fendi, makes a return with a re-edition of the sequin version available in six colourways, from emerald to blue, exclusive to Harrods in Europe.

Shopping bags weighing you down? Need a quick break? Fendi Caffe offers a specially curated menu taking inspiration from Italy. The artist Joshua Vides converts the space into a modern contemporary dining experience, emblazoned with the Fendi double FF logo in black and white geometric graphics – a Fendi eatery extravaganza.

The third concept store, Shoe Heaven, will house the Maison’s most coveted new season styles. Highlights include Colibri tech mesh slingbacks, mid top sneakers with a distinctive sock silhouette, FFreedom ankle boots with a square shaped heel and pointed high-heel boots in shiny neoprene.

For men, a preview of the AW19 accessories collection will be showcased at the Piazza concept space which will include the legendary Baguette bag, re-envisaged for men, available in selected colourways and featuring the iconic FF closure clasp. The Karl Kollage collection will also be on display – a mood board of handwritten notes, images and sketches once shared between Silvia Venturini Fendi and Guest Artist Karl Lagerfeld for the men’s AW19 runway show. The collection includes a backpack, clutch, belt bag, messenger and travel cases.

With so much to choose from, you’re sure to leave with a special new purchase.
