Garrard unveils new couture collection – Rule

SIGNIFYING a new exciting direction for the House, Garrard‘s new couture collection marks a significant shift for the brand emphasising the blending of its rich legacy with a bold and exciting vision for the future.

Known as one of the oldest and most cherished London-based jewellery establishments, Garrard’s royal legacy dates back to 1735. Appointed as the official Crown Jeweller in 1843, the company has crafted some of the most exquisite and legendary pieces in Royal history, including the setting for the Cullinan I diamond, Princess Diana’s iconic engagement ring, and a number of marvellous tiaras worn at state occasions.

With nearly 300 years of experience, Garrard remains a trusted source for exceptional jewellery designs for royalty and private clients. The company’s team of industry-leading designers, gemologists and craftspeople are skilled in creating new and unique designs, as well as preserving the traditional British heritage and hand-crafted techniques in the jewels of Garrard’s collections.

Nevertheless, his year’s category of high-end jewellery comes with a ‘royal twist’. Unveiling four dazzling suits – Amazonia, Desert Rose, Northern Lights and Mustique, the line features a bold and dynamic combination of colours, stones, and designs.

Each piece is set to be worn with confidence and style. Further, pushing boundaries in the world of high jewellery, Garrad ventures into more avant-garde design concepts by introducing a daring selection that showcases experimentation with different sizes and shapes, bold colours, cutting-edge techniques, and unique combinations of stones and materials.

The precious stones were chosen for their exceptional rarity; for instance, the used cabochon aquamarines create a uniquely different visual effect compared to the traditional faceted aquamarines or bi-colour tourmalines, gradually changing their appearance from green to pink.

Yet, the element that definitely cannot be missed out on is the amazing craftsmanship behind the Northern Lights suite. Working amongst experts, the designers created the finest opals and paired them with bicolour mother of pearl that together have a mesmerising ability to shift from white to gold, while multi-coloured sapphires reflect the play of colour within the opals. As Garrard’s creative director Sara Prentice shared, “These jewels are incredibly pleasurable to wear, just like a couture dress.”

To highlight the campaign’s message even further, the brand has created a series of photographs set in a palace, which breaks from the traditional royal portrait style but, instead, presents a more modern and rather mischievous take on royalty. Timeless finery adornments aspire to bring out an ever-lasting impression, uplifting the wearer’s confidence to make a statement with every move.
