Levi’s celebrates 150 years of the 501 jeans with a year long celebratory campaign

LEVI’s 501 jeans, a legendary fashion piece, is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year. Throughout its long history, it has been worn by countless individuals from diverse backgrounds, making it a symbol of self-expression and a constant presence in human experiences.

To commemorate this historical event, Levi’s has launched The Greatest Story Ever Worn campaign, a year-long celebration of the countless moments and stories that have involved Levi’s 501 jeans.

As part of this campaign, Levi’s will release three short films directed by Martin de Thurah and Melina Matsoukas. Intending to inspire a new generation to continue writing the next chapter in the story of the 501 jeans, these films showcase original stories from around the world, highlighting the rich history of the 501 jeans.

“Few products, let alone pieces of clothing, have been as consistently present for so many human experiences for as long as the 501. Coming from the humblest of beginnings as workwear pants, Levi’s 501 jeans have become a blank canvas for self-expression that transcends the boundaries of culture and class.” – shared Chris Jackman, VP of Brand Marketing, Levi’s

The 150th anniversary of Levi’s 501 jeans is a testament to the timelessness and versatility of this classic style. Despite undergoing numerous transformations over the years, it continues to be a staple in the fashion world and remains a symbol of self-expression and creativity.
