NOTORIOUS for their use of found objects and eccentric source materials, design duo Rottingdean Bazaar transformed their third runway show as part of Topman and Fashion East’s MAN project into a fancy-dress parade.
Hiring their whimsical collection of costumes from fancy-dress shops around the country, the pair sent models down the runway carrying placards advertising the store from which each outfit was rented. The pageant featured an ear of sweetcorn, a Christmas tree, a pumpkin and the globe.
The line-up also paid homage to some of art and fashion’s greatest icons, with Ashes To Ashes David Bowie and Van Gogh taking to the catwalk.
Aside from the novelty of the entirely rented collection, the show also utilised a powerfully varied legion of models. With a range of genders, ages, ethnicities and body shapes on display, this was a dynamic and diverse show.
