With glass windows that stretch from the floor to the ceiling, the natural light radiates through the entire place infusing the buzzing ambiance of its wine bar into the dining area.

Designed by the Lore Group’s Creative Director Jacu Strauss, the space aims to echo the sultry warm feeling of a summer’s evening by the seaside with wood walls, reinterpreted sand art works and a sensational yellow sculptural showpiece in the middle, coming together to reflect the contemporary essence of its postcode.

With a menu that combines familiar fish favourites with new takes on classics, Head Chef Tom Moore has triumphantly shown eaters the beauty of being on an island can bring.

With a raw bar that showcases three different variations of home grown oysters to Japanese inspired Sea Bream ceviche, to starters that focus on our coasts like Steamed Dorset Mussels and Cured Cornish Mackerel paté, and to their moorish Catch of the Day main and decadent take on the classic Fish and Chips.

With no expense spared on the interior and a menu that makes it clear that one trip is not enough, the drinks offering is a reappraisal of the positive reviews that Goddard & Gibbs’ has already garnered.

The well-considered long list of wines, covering white, red, rosé and dessert wine, offer diners a chance to satisfy their personal preference – with a notable highlight being the Paltrinieri Lambrusco from the family-run vineyard, that playfully dances between rosé and prosecco with a vibrant taste to accompany the fresh produce on your plate.

The combination of fresh, locally sourced food paired with a prime location and chic design aesthetic is one you cannot fault, and one that Goddard & Gibbs has undoubtedly earned itself a gold star for.
